Thank you to Hasbro’s DohVinci for providing the kids and even me with an afternoon of crafty fun.
Have you heard of DohVinci before? Here is what it is…
“Introduced in 2014 by the makers of Play-Doh, DohVinci features a unique design compound and an innovative Styler tool that together deliver a creative experience that is highly intuitive, enjoyable, and completely engrossing. With so many colors and application techniques and a design compound that sticks to a variety of surfaces – the creative possibilities are nearly endless!”
I’ll be honest I hadn’t heard of the product until I went to SNAP this year. There I got to talk with people from DohVonci and play around with this fun craft medium.
Last week while my niece was visiting, I decided to break out the DohVinci, and let them have a little craft time of their own. The mom’s had already had our little cardmaking party, so it was their time.
The DohVinci kits came with all the supplies they needed and even something for them to decorate. (I wish I had a picture but 5 year olds can be rather quick about getting into a package.) I also purchased a few little dollar things at the craft store for them to decorate, things like frames, letters and door hangers.
By far the most popular thing with the kids was the DohVinci Color Mixer. They loved making their own little color creations.
They both got the hang of it in no time and didn’t need any help from me.
Even though this was for the “kids,” my sister and I couldn’t help but keep eyeballing their fun. At one point I finally “borrowed” one of the stylers and quickly decorated this little “E” for my son. It was a LOT of fun!
I love that this isn’t a disposable craft. My son’s room is now decorated with his creations.
I know my sister and I would have had just as much fun playing with this as the kids. I couldn’t help but dream of all the ways it could be used. I would love to make Christmas ornaments with it. It’s not just me who thinks this is fun for adults, check out these amazing recreates made with DohVinci for Art Appreciation Month.
Don’t you love it!
This one is especially my favorite. I would love to have it hanging in my house.
DohVinci is definitely fun for all ages. Have you tried it yet? I would love to hear about the fun creations you made with it.
