I have been working on organizing my craft supplies. Being a sewer, crocheter, quilter and scrapbooker has left me with quite a mess. But, trying to organized all my supplies, left me with an even more terrifying realization… I have a lot of unfinished projects! I’m not talking about that list of things “I want to do,” that haven’t even been started. No, these things are half done, just sitting there abandoned.
Here is the ugly truth of this procrastinator sewer…
There are 2 quilts to finish, things to mend, a play-mat, chalkboard fabric project, a couple smaller things like pot holders, and a blanket that needs crocheted edging, overflowing from this container.
Unfortunately most of the projects are for my poor son, like his quilt that was supposed to be a Christmas present- last year.
This month I am going to attempt to try to eliminate this pile. Because, in all reality these unfinished projects are keeping me from moving on to new and exciting things, and my son should have his quilt from mommy.
Does this ever happen to you? You put some unfinished projects to the side and before you know it, the pile should have an avalanche warning.

Welcome to my life. I think I have more unfinished projects, than finished ones.

I know what you mean, Katie.

Yep, I’m in the same boat. I did finish one quilt, but I have a long list to finish (I’m giving quilts for Christmas this year!) And I have another gallery wall to do, and lots of things to do in my new craft room. I keep telling myself I’ll have more time when D goes to school 3 days a week this fall. Although I may just try catching up on the lack of sleep for the last 4.5 years!

I know what you mean, Jen. All I may get done when the little guy goes to Kindergarten is nap for the first year.

You are not alone my friend! I have A LOT of unfinished projects around my room… I was supposed to finish those projects this summer, and I didn’t :/ I guess I will have to work on them now that I finished college.

I have an unfinished scrapbook (from 3 years ago) and an unfinished set of cross stitched pillow cases that I’m having a hard time picking up again…UGH

Oh my yes. It’s funny if I make a quilt or something for someone else, zip it’s done. If I do something for myself, 10 years later it’s still unfinished. I have two unfinished quilts. Sadly. Now one of them, even if I finish, I won’t use. I don’t like the colors anymore! The other is a wall quilt so I would hang that. All I have left is the binding and some top quilting. Jeez. Why can’t I finish? I also have a beautiful, very large cross stitch Christmas scene that I love and have never finished. I think it’s because I’ve gotten older and I’ve lost my 20/20 vision! Ugh. I need to finish these projects too.

I know exactly what you mean. I have done tons of rag quilts for baby showers and different gifts, all while this quilt for my son has sat here unfinished forever. I started a cross- stitch project for him while I was pregnant that I gave up on, so I need to finish this blanket. I am close though thankfully.
