Hi there! My name is Rachel and I’m the author and creator at {i love} my disorganized life. I am so excited to be guest-posting for my friend Brenna here at Life After Laundry. I blog about food {mostly sweet}, crafts and sewing.
A few weeks ago, one of my daughters celebrated her 18th birthday. If you already visit my blog, you may recall the round-up I did for her virtual birthday party. If not, go check it out! One of the things I did for her on her birthday was make these gift bags. Some were fabric and some were paper. Today I am going to show you how easy it is to make Paper Goodie Packages.
Supplies:
- 8×8 scrapbook paper
- Permanent double-sided tape
- Embellishments (paper or fabric, even buttons!)
- Treats and trinkets
- Your sewing machine {don’t worry, just a simple straight stitch!}
Using the double-stick tape, tape opposite ends together to make a tube.
Take one end of the tube and pinch closed. Use your sewing machine to sew it closed. You can use a simple straight stitch or something a little more fun, like a zig-zag stitch.
Decorate the closed end however you want. I’ll be giving this one to my husband for our 22nd wedding anniversary this Saturday, so mine’s a little on the mushie side!
Fill your package with trinkets and goodies. I used his favorite chocolates and a little card with a quote he loves {he even has a t-shirt with this written on it!}.
Pinch the open end of the tube in the opposite direction as the closed end. Sew shut the same way you did the other end.
All finished! No need to stop at one, make as many as you like! I love these paper bags because:
- they are fun to make
- you can fill them with just about anything
- they are fun to get
- you can use them for a wide variety of celebrations:
- anniversaries
- birthdays
- graduation {it holds cash very well}
- Mother’s or Father’s Day
- Christmas
- in Easter baskets
- as party favors
- Hanukkah
- Valentine’s Day
What other ways can you think of to use these Paper Goodie Bags?
Thank you so much for spending time with me here. I hope you will come over to {i love} my disorganized life and say hello!
