Back during the crazy month of May we celebrated my little boys 4th birthday. Did I really just say 4? Time really does fly when you are having fun being mom. It’s so hard to believe he is that old, and yet it is hard to remember life before him.
This year anyone who knew my son could have guessed we were doing a LEGO party. Are there any little boy that don’t like LEGOS? My husband still loves them, and my son caught the bug supper young.
This year’s party was a little more exciting because we decided to invite my sons friends for the first time. Having to entertain several 3-4 year olds is a little bit of pressure, and this had me more concerned with decorations and party favors than in years where it was just family.
Thankfully, my MIL and FIL handled the decorating process, so I could focus on the food and other planning. Parties are always slightly stressful for the parents, but I have to say the party turned out wonderful!
Since LEGOS seem to be such a big hit with so many, girls and boys, it seemed only fitting to pass on some of the resources we found valuable in our party planning process.
What party is complete without bunting! We were outside for his party, which limited us on some of the things we could do, but this was a decoration that worked perfect for us. You can find the LEGO man shape at My {Creative} Place for making this cute card-stock bunting.
For the treat bags we made LEGO crayons, using these molds from Amazon and filled the rest of the bag your usual party favors. I printed off coloring sheets from the LEGO website, to go with the treat bags. It was something they could take with them and also served to entertain while they had to wait for different things.
These mask were a big hit, and probably the favorite of all the kids. I think my son and his friends barely took them off the entire party. Little man and Aunt Ruth are demonstration their best action figure moves, intimidating huh?
This Your Face Here Lego Cutout was designed and created by my Father-in-law. He used cardboard and reinforced it with a little wood to make it sturdier. He then drew his design and painted it. The kids had a lot of fun taking their picture with it, and it held up great (which is really saying something when you have a party of toddlers.)
We found tons of of party game ideas from chickabug blog. There we found the idea for pin the head on the LEGO man. This was created similarly to the Your Face Here structure my FIL built. It took a little bit to get the kids interested in the game, so dad had to jump in to help.
Yes, there really were other kids at the party, although not pictured. I didn’t want this to be the first and last year with friends because parents didn’t want their child to go to that birthday party with the mommy blogger.
We were definitely all worn out by the end of the party, but it was so worth it. If you happen to be planning a LEGO party in the future I hope you found some inspiration to help make your LEGO party a huge success.

That looks like a fun party. I’m sure your son loved it. My son would love it and he is 22. Wouldn’t that be a funny surprise for his birthday? I’m so glad it was successful.
