It wasn’t long after I started sewing that I found Moda Fabrics and fell in love. The fabric is good quality and beautiful. I think that anyone who thinks that sewing and quilting is for their grandma would quickly change their mind when they see the bright colors and modern prints of Moda. You cannot look at their fabric with out being inspired. I dare… you try it! But, just in case the fabric doesn’t speak enough they have a lot of FREE tutorials, called recipes, that are sure to do the job. Not only do they have wonderful quilt recipes, but they have recipes for everything from a shower curtain to a kids chalkboard placemats.
I have tried a few of their tutorials in the year that I have been sewing. Each time I have been very happy with how well they were written and the pictures that went along with them. My projects always turned out excellent.
Right now Moda has a giveaway going on where all you have to do is “pin” some of your favorite recipes on Pinterest for a chance to win some pre-cuts of your own. The Grand Prize is the ingredients to make your favorite recipe! Check it out… I mean I know you are on Pinterest right now pinning stuff, why not try to win some awesome fabric. Check here for all the detail.
While I was looking through my “pinned” Moda Bake Shop recipes, I was trying to pick my favorite to be next on my list to do. It wasn’t easy… I mean if I had the chance to do any of these projects I would be a happy quilter.
I have been torn between a couple projects, but I have to say my favorite is Salt Water Taffy Boy and Girl Quilts. I have a niece that is just 9 months older than my son and she lives in Oregon. I guess I am just missing her an awful lot right now, she just had a birthday. I would love to make her and my son a quilt with these fabrics. They were so close before her and my sister moved and I know they would like to have something that matched. This print is a little more grown up and is exactly what these growing toddlers need, no more baby stuff for them. I like the pattern of this quilt a lot too. I am fairly new to quilting and this would be a little more piecing for me, but I am ready for a challenge. All around this is my favorite recipe for so many reasons, and I hope to do this project for them soon.
I hope you take the time to pin some of these great recipes. My dream is to write a tutorial for Moda Bake Shop one day, but I have a long way to get there.
Do you like hearing about this kind of giveaway? Let me know.

Sorry Brenna
I think I spelt your name wrong?
Brenna
No problem. I am used to it. It isn’t the most common name.
