With the New Year I have been tackling the challenge of organizing my craft supplies and redoing my craft space (the corner of our bedroom.) One of the first things I knew that I needed to change was the lighting. My room is horribly dark and makes it hard to match up colors or even see while sewing.
When I got the GE Reveal© Halogen Bulbs I instantly saw a difference in the light it produces. But, I have to say I was still shocked by the before and after pictures I took.
Morning after morning my husband and I are face with the tough decision of, “what color is this sock ?” and no wonder! I can’t believe how harsh- yellow our previous lighting was, it truly did distort the appearance of colors.
You can see how one of the main colors in this quilt goes from being orange-ish with the soft white bulb to red with the GE Reveal© Bulb. In quilting this is pretty important. How your final quilt turns out depends on how you match up different colors and patterns. If I had based my borders, binding and thread decisions off of orange I would have made a terrible mistake. One that I probably wouldn’t have realized until the quilt was finished.
Not only did changing to the GE Reveal© Bulb help bring clarity to my quilting work, but it did a lot to help the appearance of my craft area. The room appears larger, and the whiter light makes it a happier more pleasant working space. It’s amazing the difference a little (the right) light can make.
I was so happy with this makeover, that I have started redoing every room in the house with these bulbs. They really do wonders for small rooms, like a hallway. Plus, by switching we are saving energy and money.
It isn’t just good for quilters, see how the GE Reveal© bulbs can help you in your home, hobbies and work place.

Wow! That is a huge difference. I might have to look in to getting some of them for my dining room, since that is where I do my crafting.

Wow!! That’s a huge difference! We have switched over to better lightbulbs mostly just to save money, and I love them!
