I have fallen in love with eMeals. Today I will try to briefly tell you all the reasons why.
When my friend Sarah mentioned this to me I was a little skeptical about paying for meal planning. I mean, when you are trying to live frugal you don’t usually think of spending money, even if it says you might save. I’m glad that her excitement was contagious, and when I finally got the chance to try it I understood exactly what she was talking about.
If you aren’t familiar with eMeals, here is a little more about it:
- It’s an online meal planning solution.
- They offer a variety of lifestyle meal plans including Clean Eating, Paleo, Low Fat, Low Carb, Natural & Organic, Portion Control, Gluten Free, Classic, and Vegetarian meal plans.
- They team up with several national grocery store chains to provide you a menu using sales from that store.
- Each week you will receive an email with 7 dinner recipes and a corresponding grocery list.
- Users can choose between a 12, 6, or 3 month subscription, and you are also able to add on a breakfast or lunch plan if desired.
Why I love eMeals:
- We have stayed within our grocery budget for the first time in a looonnnggg time (Ok, I can probably count on one hand how many times it has happened before this.) The mister and I love to cook, so going to the grocery store is kind of dangerous. We were always finding a way to rationalize spending extra, so that we could make this or that. A big selling factor for me was that Dave Ramsey supports it, so you know you’re going to save money.
- I always have a plan! I love cooking, and I love finding new recipes and cooking them at my convenience. I don’t enjoy trying to figure out what to make every night based on the stuff I have around the house.
- We’re trying new stuff and eating a more diverse diet. I don’t think there is a person in the world that hasn’t fallen into that dinner time rut, that feeling that you are always eating the same thing. We are actually eating more vegetables and even had fish on the menu this week, all while staying under budget.
- Saves me time and stress! (More time for crafts and what I enjoy) I don’t have to wonder what I am going to fix for dinner, or try to figure out the best thing to buy at the grocery store.
- Eating out less. This ties in with all my other points, but when you have a plan and you are excited about trying something new, you are way less likely to go out to eat.
I plan to go back an expand on each of these points more in the next couple weeks. I just didn’t want to overload you at one time. I do hope you will check them out.
After I realized what a valuable tool this was to our family, I decided to partner with them and become an affiliate. So, from now on you will be able to get to them through my ad on the sidebar.

Brenna this is really such a great service! I hate having to figure out dinner last minute! And it seems like I am always fixing the same dishes over and over {total rut over here}. I love that they plan meals based on grocery store sales. Genius!
