A Vintage Button Flower Arrangement is a perfect gift for any crafter. Most of us have a collection of buttons that would be perfect to displayed in this little arrangement. Of course, giving it a vintage twist with a wooden spool and lace just adds to its simple charm.
Each year we have a Project Linus Appreciation Dinner to celebrate the ladies in our chapter. As the assistant coordinator, I have a part in making the ladies feel special for this dinner.
Last year I made fabric flower pins for them to wear as our guest of honors, and take home. Everyone loved these pins, and I knew the gift had to be just as special this year. We played around with a few different ideas before finally coming up with this Button Flower Arrangement. We loved how they turned out, and felt like they would be the perfect token of our appreciation.
You Need:
- Wooden Spools
- Lace
- Tulle
- Buttons
- Wire
- Glue Gun
- Wire Cutter
To Make:
I started with gluing the lace on, and then inserted the tulle into the spools. To make these flowers, you can use random sized buttons and layer several together for different looks. Just run the wire through the the holes and twist to secure.
I have to say after making about 20 of these my fingers were pretty sore, so Cassie forgive the unpolished- beat up nails. There is probably a jewelry making tool that would have aided in wrapping the wire, so if anyone knows of one please let me know. I will be glad to include that in my list.
I think everyone really loved their gift this year, but, of course, it has me already wondering what am I going to make this group of sewers next year?

These are so beautiful!! It’s a great and unique present. Maybe a chain nose plier could help you with the wire.
